Not Doing and All Gets Done

Hello Dear Bluebird Fairy Friends,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying the opening of spring and the wonderful messages the holidays of this time bring to our lives.

I have been in a flurry of active pursuits.  Some are at home.  Many are out in the world assisting my creation of a Business Plan for Bluebird Fairies.

Last week I was at home organizing my Fairy Cards for an upcoming event at The SPACE Gallery (see fabulous Stephanie Salmon flier below).  Organizing the fairies is always a struggle.  One issue was not being able to find any of one fairy that I realized I’d not seen for a while. I jokingly wondered if he and his gang had felt unappreciated and run away. Or had so many people purchased this kind of fairy that there were simply none left?

I found him in my stock at the studio.  His disappearance, by then, had piqued my awareness of how much I need him.   So, I'm changing my protocol for this blog posting and, rather than pulling one at random from my Fairy Deck, declaring him “The Fairy of the Blog”.

Ladies and Gentlemen please join me in welcoming:

Busy with obligations, pursuits, decisions, meetings and the many hours we put in at our respective “jobs” how can we let his message sink in?

We take a breath, smile and relax.

Join me in knowing that so much is happening under the surface of our days.  Our belief in this allows the space for the right things to happen at the right time.

I'm delighted to be returning to The SPACE Gallery this Friday for the First Friday art opening.  It’s a great show you shouldn’t miss and the Creative Competition will be happening as well.

The Fairy Booth will be up.  Fairy Cards and Decks will be available for purchase.  The readings are free.  Stop in and say 'Hi.'

Enjoy it all.

All the best,

Emily and The Bluebird Fairies

Yes! Take the Time to Hold You Dearly

Hello Dear Bluebird Blog Readers,

I hope you are all doing well.

I have a cold and am home taking it easy.  It is for this reason I can finally write to you about the fairy I drew from my Fairy Deck on March 8th.

This man fairy with his gentle grin, soft hair and lopsided legs is part of a group in the Fairy Deck that offer earnest good words with a sense that they share a hesitance about their lives.   Their names, however, are strong and their speech bubbled comments such as this fellow's "This is it" and "Yes, indeed" are firm.  And so we all move forward.

It is not till now that I have allowed myself to gracefully sink into the sofa and let my heavy cares wash around in my brain and then flow out the door to join the melting snows and thawing river that hugs the land on which we live.

Ah....

There is always so much in one’s head.  And here on the couch I have to admit I'm surrounded by my large Women's Small Business Program Binder and notes from a small business event I attended on Wednesday. And, yes, I've been exploring the web sites of my competitors with my little iPad.

I just read a good tip.  Accept Displacement.  When starting to create a business it's important to realize that any task you do will be displacing another one because there is not enough of you.  The key is to know what things need to be done now and be ok for the time being that the other things are not being done.  I am challenged by a need to do it all.

That's why I keep stopping to remember that I'm taking this time to hold myself dearly.  I do and then a little bit more worry travels out of me.

Can you take a moment to do this too?  I hope so.

Friends, in the next blog I'll have announcements of exciting upcoming events and a few of the great testimonials from people getting the most out of their Fairy Decks.

I wish you all well and that the kind sun is shining on your life in these ever brightening days.

Fondly,

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies

The Fairy of It's All Going to Happen

Hello Dear Blog Readers,

This winter it has been quite cold on the East Coast and many other places.  It’s so easy during times like this to feel that our hopes and dreams have been stilled.  That the things we’re trying to get done will never move into the spaces that allow their success to blossom.

As my boyfriend, Brian, and I embarked on a weekend that had a list of fun activities, discussion topics for forward thinking and necessary restorative rituals I drew this fairy from our Fairy Deck.

Here is the origin of this fairy.  Last year I wrote to a friend who has advised me on important elements of my life for several years.  In it I detailed an epiphany I’d just had of how my future work efforts should and could move forward.  It was a lot of stuff and much of it I am working on at The Women’s Small Business Program and with Utter Communication Strategies.   The response I received from my friend was-

'It's all going to happen.'

This Fairy gives me such hope.

She’s giving it to you wherever and whenever you need it in your life.

Please be well.

Fondly,

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies

Apples Growing in Prague

Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,

This blog posting’s Fairy was selected by my dear friend and huge Fairy Fan Stephanie Salmon.  She wants to know his story because she finds him confusing and even confessed that when she asks a friend to select a Fairy Card from her Fairy Deck she hopes this guy won't show up. Please welcome, everyone.....

This is his story:

When I worked with The Bread and Puppet Theater we traveled a lot rehearsing and performing large puppet spectacles with people all over the world.  My favorite place in Europe was the city of Prague. So magical it was for me with its architecture looking like it had grown out of the very rocks that formed the land in which it was situated.  I've held the feeling of being there in my heart for 20 years yearning to go back to see and feel it again.

Last year Dexter, a world traveller and the man who owns the round house I live in, travelled to Eastern Europe for the first time. I told him how much I loved Prague and hoped he would visit there.

When he came home he had a jar of dried apples from Prague that a friend had given him as a present.  Each time I heard him tell stories of his trip he ended them saying that of all the places he went the City of Prague was his favorite.

“The Fairy of Apples Growing in Prague” represents to me the times we know what we want and yet allow it to find its way into our lives in a different way.  That’s one of the reasons it’s a good idea to “leave room for the magic”.  When it happens it feels wonderful.

Have you had an experience or two like this?  Can you let this fairy bring you hope for unique miracles in your life,

Here’s a fun testimonial of how the Fairy Deck is working in one family’s life.

“We love the fairy cards!  I keep forgetting to tell my mom that they are part of our weekly family meeting ritual.”

-Rachel Siegel

Please keep the comments coming, dear friend, we love them!!!

With great love for the late afternoon light,

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies

Being Part of it All

Hello Dear Friends of Bluebird Fairies,

The event on Friday Feb 6th at The S.P.A.C.E. Gallery was wonderful.  I did 21 Fairy Card Readings.  Each conversation between me, the person and 3 fairies selected from the Fairy Deck allowed for fun reflection and genuine human connection to happen. I'm thankful to Christy Mitchell and other artists at the Gallery for providing me with this space in time.

I'm moving into my 2nd week with the Women's Small Business Program.  It is a great fortune for me to have this time and space in my life to explore the business possibilities of my fairies and demons.  It is so easy to lose the confidence I need to move this unique idea forward.

I am delighted the Fairy of this Blog Posting is

He's such a positive looking fellow.  His message reminds me that our best gift is our unique ways of being human.  If we hold this idea in our hearts as we move forward with our wish to make a positive difference in the world we are sure to succeed.  Accepting ourselves allows us to accept others.

I took this fairy's picture on a dark background because I want to show that the Fairy Cards have had a change in appearance.

Rounded corners!

I had no idea I would like them so much or that it would make the Fairy Decks feel so professional.

The book happened to be my copy of the 3rd edition of Ballentine's Law Dictionary which my Grandfather edited many years ago.  My Grandfather was a lawyer who worked for the Lawyer's Cooperative Publishing Company in Rochester, NY.  When he retired as the Managing Editor he took on the ambitious project of editing the law dictionary.  In it he added many new terms along with explanations of their origins.

How does the Fairy of Being a Part of it All in Your Way speak to you at this moment in your life?  Enjoy the thoughts that arise.  Feel sturdy in your ability to know yourself.

Happy Valentine's Day or (as my brother says) Singles Awareness Day.

We are all moving forward with the tools we need.  We’ll find them.

Wishing you the very best,

Emily and the Bluebird Fairies
